Our AI Program Coordinator, Beth Cusack has been recognised for her work delivering inclusive Gen-AI Bootcamps that help autistic young people build practical technology skills, confidence and a sense of belonging. The program recently expanded to Geraldton, where students explored generative AI, robotics, coding and virtual reality through hands-on projects.

We wrapped up our GenAI Bootcamp at the Lyn Beazley Academy this week, where students developed thoughtful hackathon projects focused on accessibility, ethics, and community impact. From a hand-gesture laptop control tool to a concept for identifying AI-generated social media content, the projects showed both creativity and critical thinking in action.

WADSIH hosted a Stakeholder Breakfast bringing together senior leaders from government, industry and universities to unpack what the National AI Plan means for Western Australia. Featuring insights from the National AI Centre, the Office of Digital Government WA and WADSIH, the morning explored AI capability, governance and the opportunities ahead for the state. It’s been a long and exciting road filled with milestones, but the weekend of September 20-21 saw the culmination of all the work, effort and inspiration as the WA Health Hackathon 2025 was held at Curtin University’s Centre for Aboriginal Studies.

We’re always happy to work with longtime partner GoSH, so when the opportunity came up to be part of the latest GoSHackathon in the Peel region, we eagerly jumped on board, with WADSIH Director Alex Jenkins delivering a presentation and taking part in a panel on the day.
