WADSIH exists to support that transition.
We help organisations understand, explore and apply data science and artificial intelligence in ways that create real value – from improving productivity and decision-making, to solving complex business, government and societal challenges.
Our role is to act as a bridge between sectors, connecting Western Australian businesses, government agencies, researchers, educators, students and technology leaders. Through our events, advisory services, AI resources, training initiatives, Hackathons and capability-building programs, we help translate emerging technologies into practical outcomes for WA.
Whether an organisation is just beginning its AI journey, looking to build internal capability, exploring a data science project, or seeking connections with local expertise, WADSIH provides a trusted entry point into Western Australia’s growing data and AI ecosystem.

The purpose of WADSIH is to help Western Australia harness the opportunities of data science and artificial intelligence while building the skills, partnerships and confidence needed to use these technologies well.
We achieve this through:
• Providing access to specialist data science and AI capability across universities, research organisations and industry.
• Supporting the development of trained graduates, emerging professionals and upskilled workers for WA’s future economy.
• Promoting practical AI literacy and data literacy across the community, industry and government.
• Helping organisations identify and progress AI and data science projects.
• Advocating for the responsible, ethical and inclusive use of data and artificial intelligence.
• Facilitating collaboration and strengthening Western Australia’s data and AI community.
The WADSIH team is made up of an Advisory Board, Steering Committee and Management Team, bringing together expertise from across government, academia, industry and the innovation ecosystem.
Together, they guide WADSIH’s work to build a connected, capable and responsible data and AI ecosystem for Western Australia.
