AI Lift-Off is WADSIH’s education program and one-stop learning platform for high schools. Co-designed with teachers, mapped to the curriculum, AI Lift-Off is purpose-built to do two things at once: equip teachers with classroom-ready interactive AI lessons, and help students develop AI literacy and informed AI use.

We’re running professional development workshops for educators, with the goal of equipping you with the tools and skills to use AI and pass on relevant AI skills to your students. We’ll go over some AI foundations and run through some of our purpose-built AI tools, showing you how they can be used in the classroom and what they show students in relation to AI literacy and understanding.
We’re currently booking AI-Lift-Off incursions which can be tailored to what your school & student cohort is looking for.
Each incursion starts with an overview of how AI actually works. Students get to look inside an AI model and explore how it makes decisions, and what affects the outcome. Then, the workshop takes one of our learning pathways – Digital Technologies, Industry skills, or Learning applications – depending on what your school & student cohort wants to explore.
We’re taking bookings for 1-2 sessions per school, but if you’re keen for more involvement, email us about booking Teacher PD sessions!
Digital Technologies
Using block-coding or Python to create AI powered assistants, with a focus on the WA Digital Technologies curriculum strands.
Industry skills
Exploring how AI is being used in various industries, what employers are looking for, and practising skilled prompting.
Learning applications
Looking at how AI can be used to enhance learning, not replace it. Students are already using AI, so let’s look at how to use it meaningfully!

During AI Lift-Off sessions, we use a purpose-built platform, designed for delivery in schools and with student safety at the forefront. Students and teachers can interact with and learn about AI in a controlled online space, with full observability & transparency. You don’t need custom software, email sign-ups, or loads of different websites – we do everything in one space so you can focus on learning!

Email wadsih@curtin.edu.au for an incursion information package – all the detail you need in one place. This includes details of Public Liability Insurance and Working with Children Checks, as well as detailed curriculum alignment and online safety information.
We’ll also ask you for your availability, student numbers and subject area (where applicable).
AI Lift-Off incursions are designed for Years 7–10. Sessions for Years 5–6 are
available on request.
The standard incursion runs for about 50-60 minutes, suitable for a single class period. Back-to-back sessions are also available.
AI Lift-Off incursions are currently free for pilot bookings at Perth high schools. Pilot spots are limited. We’ll ask you to complete a short, anonymous feedback survey at the end of the session.
Schools provide a classroom with a projector or screen and student devices with internet access. We’ll do the rest!
Yes! We don’t require access to any Generative AI websites or third-party tools. We work from our built-for-schools WADSIH platform with various optional AI functionalities. The use of Generative AI in the workshop can be modified to align with your school’s rules.
Yes. AI Lift-Off is mapped to the WA Digital Technologies curriculum for Years 7–10 and supports General Capabilities including Critical and Creative Thinking, Ethical Understanding and Digital Literacy. Wider curriculum links are planned.
In-person workshops are currently limited to the Perth metro area. Regional events or virtual options are available depending on scale and cost – get in touch at wadsih@curtin.edu.au
WADSIH provides a single platform containing learning modules, AI integrations and interactive activities. This platform is purpose-built for school-aged students to learn about and engage with AI safely, and provide teachers with complete observability and control. Our focus is on generalisable AI skills and student safety, with no collection of identifiable data and granular control over what your students can access.

We’re running workshops for educators to learn how to use the AI Lift-Off platform to explore and deliver AI modules to students, starting from basic AI foundations and core concepts. All learning materials and lesson plans are provided to teachers, with PD sessions focusing on learning AI basics and understanding how the program can be delivered in alignment with their school & classroom goals.
