Part of WADSIH’s ongoing mission is to connect the next generation of programmers and builders with the industry leaders who’ll employ them in the near future, so we’re always glad to partner with the Office of Digital Government for its Digital Public Sector Graduate Program.

As we’ve done in years past, the program kicked off with our information and networking evening, where students and recent graduates got the chance to spend time with Office of Digital Government officers and industry leaders to learn about the opportunities, hone their skills and zero in on their career targets.

The Graduate Program gives entrants the chance to work on a range of digital projects and initiatives to solve some very complex challenges all over WA. Successful graduates rotate between several government agencies, working in the trenches as they figure out how data and digitisation can better deliver vital community services.

And WADSIH is glad to be part of their journey. Representatives from the government were on hand to explain how the Program’s structure helps graduates discern and identify the career path that suits them and offer practical tips on the best way to apply for digital public service roles.

Informal networking and lively conversation with digital leaders from across industry and government capped the event off, providing both sides with an expanded view of the environments in which they’ll work and how the best new ideas will transform government services.
