Innovation Minister Dave Kelly has announced additional funding support to WA’s innovation sector. We are grateful for this additional support from the New Industries Fund and admire the Government’s increasing commitment to supporting innovation in WA.

This additional support will help us to build our capacity for supporting WA businesses in understanding, adopting and implementing data science within their organisation. We are also very excited to be able to further develop our data science upskilling program for both industry and educators, including in WA regional areas.

Minister Dave Kelly said “Extra funding for the data science and cyber innovation hubs will build their capacity to support organisations and businesses who need guidance on best-practice to safely deliver online products and services – an area seeing huge increases in demand during the pandemic.

“Helping innovative start-ups and SMEs during the State’s economic recovery period is critical to both preserving existing jobs, while ensuring these organisations are well-positioned to create new viable businesses and as a result; additional jobs.”

We look forward to strengthening our support within the business community and developing new initiatives to aid startups and SME’s in Western Australia.
