Australia’s AI Sprint – National AI Centre

Have an artificial intelligence powered innovation that would supercharge the Australian economy?

Applications are now open for Australia’s AI Sprint, a platform for startups and entrepreneurs to pitch their innovations. WADSIH is proud to announce that we’re one of the sponsors for the prizes awarded in this event.

The AI Sprint, a collaboration between the National AI Centre (CSIRO), Stone and Chalk, and Google Cloud, aims to incentivize innovators to create AI solutions that benefit the quality of life for residents of Australia.

A total pool of research and development support worth $500,000 from selected Australian research institutes will be available to the first, second, and third-place winners. The winning team will be awarded up to a total of $300,000 in R&D support. Prizes designed to accelerate startups’ growth will be awarded to the most viable ideas.

The AI Sprint is split into two stages:

• Stage 1: Participants will receive educational AI content from Google Cloud and partners. Expert guidance will be provided on developing viable AI products, growth strategies, and commercial applications.
• Stage 2: Provision of mentoring by Google Cloud AI experts, further AI training, business mentoring, and the opportunity to showcase your innovation

• Demo day: Week commencing 17 June 2024

Participation Eligibility Criteria

The sprint is open to both individuals and entities holding an Australian Business Number (ABN). However, the following criteria must be met:

• Participants are required to have a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) of their idea.
• All entrants, whether participating individually or as part of a team, must be from a company that employs fewer than 20 full-time staff members.
