AFAC25 Emergency Hackathon: Reverse Pitch

We’re excited to officially launch the Australasian Fire & Emergency Service Authorities Council (AFAC) Emergency Management Hackathon, delivered in collaboration with the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES). This initiative brings together industry, government, and the innovation community to tackle some of the most pressing challenges in Western Australia’s emergency management sector.

This hackathon will run across three key stages:

🔹 Reverse Pitch Event (5 June 2025) — Industry and government challenge owners will present the critical problems they need help solving.

🔹 Expressions of Interest (5 June – 18 July 2025) — Participants can submit their interest to join the Hackathon, outlining their skills and ideas.

🔹 Hackathon (26–29 August 2025) — Shortlisted teams will design, build, and pitch solutions live at the AFAC25 Conference.

First up: the AFAC25 Emergency Management Hackathon – Reverse Pitch Event.

At the Reverse Pitch, you’ll hear directly from the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) as they outline the critical areas where they need your help. You’ll also get the chance to ask questions, meet potential teammates, and start shaping ideas ahead of the Hackathon.
