We’re buzzing following the spectacular launch of the WA Health Hackathon 2023.
A big thank you to everyone who has shown immense interest, making this event a sold-out Hackathon. If you haven’t secured a spot, don’t worry – you can still join our waitlist here.
The launch event kicked off on the 9th of October with an acknowledgment from organiser Tim Sondalini, highlighting the transformative potential of this Hackathon.
Jodie Louise Hanns MLA and Nasir David from the Department of Health shared their insights on the state’s commitment to fostering innovation in healthcare.
A cornerstone of this year’s Hackathon is the pioneering introduction of synthetic data.
Using these data sets offers the best of both worlds: replicating real-world trends without risking genuine patient or system data. It’s truly a game-changer, making innovation safer and more inclusive than ever.
The panel of nearly 50 mentors – industry stalwarts and domain experts – was introduced and their presence promises a rich learning experience, as they’ll guide and mentor the participants through the various challenges of the Hackathon.
The Hackathon wouldn’t be what it is without the collective support of our partners and sponsors: Department of Health (WA Health), Microsoft, WA Life Sciences Innovation Hub, and North Metropolitan Health Service. These collaborations stand as a testament to what’s achievable when we come together with a shared vision.
In the days to come, participants will have the unique opportunity to tackle six significant challenges – from optimising patient flows in Emergency Departments to leveraging AI for clinical practice.
Thank you to every individual and organisation that has been a part of this journey so far. We’re on the brink of witnessing some groundbreaking solutions, all in the name of better healthcare for WA.
