How AI is Changing the World

WADSIH Director Alex Jenkins will present How AI is Changing the World at the Westcoast Community Centre in Peppermint Grove on 25 August 2026.

Artificial intelligence is transforming almost every aspect of modern life — from the way doctors diagnose diseases and businesses make decisions to how people communicate, learn and work.

Machine learning now powers technologies such as recommendation systems, real-time language translation and autonomous vehicles, while industries including healthcare, finance, education and manufacturing are being reshaped through automation and intelligent systems.

During this accessible one-hour presentation, Alex will guide attendees through one of the most significant technological shifts in modern history. He will explore how AI is being used, the opportunities it creates and the important questions it raises around ethics, privacy and the future of work.

The session is suitable for anyone interested in understanding AI and its growing influence on our lives, with no technical background required.
